About the Journal
Launched in October 2001, the Scientific Bulletin of the MPU School for Higher Studies is an open-access journal, published every six months on a continuous flow basis. The Bulletin stands out for encouraging study and being a platform for sharing ideas, research, doctrinal and scientific investigations carried out within the Prosecution Service and on legal issues and themes related to its activities.
Initially, the publication brought together articles produced by members and staff of the Prosecution Service of the Union. As the publication became widely referenced in academic circles for disseminating the ideas of the Prosecution Service, it also began to publish texts produced by representatives of the Judiciary, professors from Brazilian and foreign universities, as well as other contributors, on matters relevant to the work of the Parquet.
The Scientific Bulletin of the MPU School for Higher Studies (BCESMPU) aims to:
-
contribute to the discussion on the Brazilian legal reality and the strengthening of the Democratic State of Law;
-
ensure the preservation of institutional memory, through the publication of studies related to the Brazilian Prosecution Service, especially the Prosecution Service of the Union;
-
guarantee a space for the dissemination of knowledge produced within the scope of the School, notably in graduate courses.
Works by authors with undergraduate or graduate degrees will be published after double-blind peer review.
Editions of the BCESMPU may include:
-
scientific articles;
-
undergraduate research articles;
-
reports of professional practices;
-
original and unpublished reviews of books published in the last two years;
-
works of legal and/or institutional interest whose dissemination is relevant to the development of Brazilian academic research.
The Scientific Bulletin of the MPU School for Higher Studies has a Qualis-CAPES A3 classification (Law, Philosophy, Interdisciplinary).
The journals of the MPU School for Higher Studies are governed by ESMPU Ordinance No. 137/2024, which establishes the Editorial Policy for Technical-Scientific Publications.
