Abstract

This paper addresses Multi-Door Justice and its relationship with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda, which aims to promote peaceful societies, ensure access to justice, and strengthen effective institutions. The study seeks to understand the historical and normative evolution of the multi-door system in Brazil, its constitutional and procedural basis in the 2015 Code of Civil Procedure, as well as its contribution to the implementation of the principle of access to justice and the achievement of sustainable development. The research is qualitative and exploratory in nature, based on bibliographic and documentary analysis, based on doctrine, legislation, and reports from the National Council of Justice (CNJ). It was found that, although Brazil has made significant progress in the regulation of self-composition, cultural and structural challenges still hinder the consolidation of mediation, conciliation, and arbitration as effective means of dispute resolution. It is concluded that the multi-door system, by promoting speed, dialogue, and cooperation, represents an essential instrument for strengthening democratic justice and achieving the SDG 16 targets. However, investment in legal education and cultural change is necessary for its full effectiveness.
